This trip to Seville will stretch out your summer and give you a unique, skater’s eye view of this beautiful Andalucian capital. Only on skates can you cover lots of ground and see the entire city and outlying areas.
Like all Skatefresh European Trips, we skate Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday.
(FULL UP – sorry!)
Friday 6th October
Meet 9pm for 9:30pm departure (see Meeting Point below).
We begin on Friday with Seville’s Friday Night Skate and the local skate community will be giving us a special “Touristy Route” taking in many of the major sites including Maria Luisa Park, Plaza de España, Historic Centre, Cartuja (Expo 92) and Triana. The skate is 15-20km ending at 11:30pm in a typical bar for late night post-skate Tapas and Sangria.
Saturday 7th October
10am Calle Radio Sevilla (see Meeting Point below)
On Saturday we skate from the City Centre in a circular route on the extensive cycle tracks around the city. There will be stops for Lesson time and seeing the Expo92 site, plus lunch en route.
On Saturday evening there is the option of Dinner with a Flamenco show. Details to come. Highly recommended if you’ve never experienced Flamenco. It’s one of Asha’s absolute favourites.
Sunday 8th October
Meet up 9:30am – same place
On Sunday we tour the city on skates taking in many of the main sights including the Cathedral and Giralda Tower, Plaza de España, Maria Luisa Park, Alamillo Park, the Guadalajara River and Cartuja Island.
The Trip includes several hours of lesson time where participants are asked to share their technique requests before the trip. During the touring part of the weekend, Asha will work with each skater on their stride and efficiency over distance skating.
As with all Skatefresh Trips you need to apply and be accepted before you purchase any travel or accommodation in Seville. We need to ensure that the ability level of all participants is adequate for the skating involved. If you are new to Skatefresh trips you’ll need to send us a short video showing your normal skating speed for 20m and then doing any stop of your choice (to a stand still).
For your information there is a FAST Thursday Night street skate (similar to London’s Friday Night Speed) and Asha will be participating. If any experienced and fast street skaters wish to come a day early for this skate you may do so (but this is NOT officially part of this trip). This would be an additional extra for those wanting a fast street skate experience. If you are not regularly skating FNS in London then you should not attempt this extra.
Trip Fee: £120 (this includes all skate tours and tuition time).
You are responsible for your accommodation, travel, insurance, food and drinks while skating.
The meeting point for the Friday Night Skate and for our Saturday and Sunday tours will be at Calle Radio Sevilla where there is a park. Here is a map link. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Calle+Radio+Sevilla,+1,+41001+Sevilla,+Spainemail@example.com,-6.0050687,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0xd126c12a508fbaf:0x6ce0538a326e5a90!8m2!3d37.3901069!4d-6.0037641?hl=en
Asha will be staying in an Airbnb flat about 1km north of the meeting point.
