Paris Skate – 7th to 9th September 2018
Asha managed to find a free weekend to sneak in a “Quick Paris Trip”. If you haven’t skated in Paris, this is not to be missed. The Trip begins with the famous Friday Night “Pari-Roller” street skate and continues with a weekend of skate touring and classes in one of the world’s most skateable cities. The “unbelievably smooth” streets of Paris form the backdrop to the weekend and the Paris street skates can have thousands of skaters participating each week!
The Skatefresh package includes up to 14 hours of guided skating and lesson time with instruction from Asha in Paris over the weekend including the Pari-Roller FNS, lessons and sightseeing on the Saturday and lessons and street skate on Sunday.

Does NOT include travel, meals and accommodation.
Before making any travel or hotel bookings you will need to apply to come on the trip and Asha will need to assess your skating ability to ensure you have the minimum skills needed to deal with the weekend trip (see more on this below). You should contact Trish at email@example.com to book.
Paris has both long slopes, steeper slopes and cobbles and you will need adequate skills to deal with the terrain although Paris is generally easier than London to skate around). If Asha knows you already then this is a quick process. If you haven’t skated with Asha before then she will send you a series of questions to answer about your skating and we’ll need to see a short video of your skating and stoping so please be ready to provide these in your application process. Once you have been accepted on the Trip you can go ahead and make your travel and hotel bookings.
The Friday Night Skate in Paris is pretty fast (comparable to London’s Wednesday night Skate (www.londonskate.com) – although in Paris it is often longer! The Sunday afternoon street skate in Paris is usually always longer than London’s Sunday Stroll and routes differ.
Minimum Skating Skills Requirements
To handle Paris you’ll need to be an intermediate level skater and have experience of skating either street skates or solo urban skating (eg comfortable with curbs, road crossings and changes of surface as standard). Your speed needs to be Intermediate level and our Saturday tours are about 25km all day. You need to have several Stopping methods in your repertoire and be very comfortable on downhill slopes controlling your speed with either the heel brake or good T-Stops. You also need to be able to stop on a downhill slope in a straight line situation (ie no turning as on a road with traffic beside). If in doubt we’ll ask you for videos of these skills to help assess if your skills are adequate.
Friday and Saturday meeting at Montparnasse Station
Saturday evening Group meal near Place D’Italie
Sunday meeting by the river near Bastille
Due to ever changing Eurostar and flight prices, we leave the booking of your travel up to you, so the sooner you book the cheaper your fare will be. We recommend hotels in Paris in the Montparnasse area as Friday and Saturday meeting points are Montparnasse station. The Saturday evening Group meal is near Place d’Italie and this isn’t far from Mantparnasse so keep those details in mind when booking.
