To celebrate Skatefresh’s 20th Birthday year, Asha will be returning to Australia…

Join her for 5 days touring Adelaide and surrounding areas with lesson time built in to work on improving your skating while enhancing your fitness and stamina.

Adelaide is a flat city, ideal for skating with an extensive cycle track network, beach front locales, parks, and beautiful countryside nearby, making it ideal for safe and picturesque urban and rural skating.

Each day we will skate a different route, seeing the city from all angles and using the best places suitable for lessons, some of them indoors and covered, all with excellent surfaces.

Lesson stops each day with Asha will focus on improving and perfecting your skating stride, various stopping techniques and slides, crossovers, backward skating, jumps, tricks and fitness. All this in a relaxed, friendly and fun environment.

Itinerary

We begin the Trip on Weds 15th April in the late afternoon with a warm up class session and skills analysis with video session (so we can compare your skills by the end of the week).

Then we’ll join the local Adelaide skate community for their Wednesday Night Skate which will take us past the city’s main sights.

The trip ends on Sunday 19th at 3pm allowing you time to travel home if leaving that day.

We will skate to a winery one day and enjoy the region’s excellent wine and produce with optional wine tastings and public transport return to the city.

Relax and enjoy your free time and evenings exploring the city off skates. Additional (optional) off-skates excursions (one including boats) will be announced (with prices) closer to the time as organisation of these is still in process.

The Trip includes a 3 hour private Rink lesson session (just us) for;
Slides workshop (1hr)
Backwards (1hr)
Dance class (1hr)
Or private practice if you opt-out of class.

Asha is continually available to train and polish your existing skills and you’ll leave the Trip with a bunch of new stopping methods, smoother crossovers, more efficient skating and some new tricks to keep you busy for the rest of the year.

There will be an optional visit to a Roller Disco one evening for those wanting to show off their newly acquired skate dance skills (we will have learned a short dance routine by then).

The Trip includes 2 yoga sessions to ensure you don’t get stiff and perhaps inspire a new stretching routine which Asha considers “essential maintenance” for skaters;
We will use Asha’s Online course ‘Yoga for Skaters’ to guide the yoga sessions.

Cost

Cost of the skating portion of the Trip is USD300 (equivalent to AUD450)
We ask for a non-returnable deposit of USD100 to reserve your place. Balance payable in USD by end February.
This includes all skate tours, lessons and guiding.

How To Apply

If we already know you from a previous Skatefresh Trip

Please email Trish at bookings@skatefresh.com to register your interest.

If you have never been on a previous Skatefresh Trip

Please email Trish at bookings@skatefresh.com and she will send you a Questionnaire about your skating skills and instructions for filming a video of yourself skating to support your application.

Ability Level Requirements

This trip is NOT appropriate for beginner skaters and all participants must be able to skate and stop confidently (using at least the heel brake). If you do not use a heel brake then you must be able to control your speed and stop on downhill slopes using other stopping methods. The ability level of participants on the Trip needs to be closely matched so that the chosen terrain and average speeds can be appropriate for everyone and allow for greater learning.
Please do NOT make any travel or accommodation arrangements until you have been officially accepted onto the Trip (by email).
