Join Skatefresh in Brighton for their 11th Birthday Celebrations on Saturday 31st July from midday (at the Westpier) to dark for social skating, SkateDance and a seaside stroll. Let’s make it as great as last year…

Although there are now 2 Skatefresh instructors providing inline (and quads) skating lessons in Brighton, Asha (Skatefresh’s founder and principal instructor) and Annette, a personal trainer who has added skating to her sporting passions, only Asha is available in 2010 due to Annette’s advancing pregnancy. Private lessons can be arranged by contacting Asha directly and groups can be booked as indicated below.

Group workshops for adults (complete beginners and improvers) and Kids Club take place at regular intervals, see the timetable below. Skate Hire is available for all classes and includes protective gear and a helmet, all for £15. Weekend skate hire rates also negotiable. This year we also have 2 fantastic new courses called SkateFIT and SkateDance which are aimed at making you fitter, stronger, faster and more agile on your skates. Who wants to be indoors at the gym in summer? Do your personal training, outdoors on your skates.

Booking is essential for all group classes and courses. Email bookings@skatefresh.com with your name, number and course date/title. Payment and other details will be sent to you. Minimum protective gear must be worn (knee and wrist pads – helmets for kids). Classes meet at either the end of the West Pier, behind sail boats, or Hove Lawns infront of the beach huts.

If you are a Route One (Brighton) or LocoSkates (Eastbourne) customer and have purchased a pair of inline skates you are entitled to a FREE one hour beginner group lesson. Please mention the shop name when booking and bring your receipt as proof of purchase.

H6 – Sunday 22nd August 12.30pm – 2.00pm
H7 – Saturday 18th September 12.30pm – 2.00pm

Half Day Improvers (all levels but not complete beginners)

H18 – Sunday 19th September, 12.00pm – 2.00pm

Kids Club

These fun filled group classes are suitable for kids aged 7-11 of any ability level (but all skaters must be able to stand on skates unassisted). Using games and rolling activities we will guide your child through the basic skills of inline skating, ensuring they have lots of fun and plenty of movement. We will focus on skate safety, stopping methods, and giving them a variety of exercises to support their learning. Cost: £10
BrK5 – Sunday 22nd August, 11.00am – 12.15am
BrK6 – Saturday 18th September, 11.00am – 12.15am

SkateDance – one-off workshops

SkateDance is the latest craze….it’s fun, keeps you fit and helps all aspects of your skating. Learning SkateDance will give your skating the coolness factor. Expand your skating repertoire to include moves which fit to any music and have the ‘wow’ factor when done alone or in a group of more then 1 (rather than your repertoire being limited to just skating fast across town)? Would you like your transitions from forwards to backwards and vice versa to become smooth and effortless?  Skatefresh’s new SkateDance classes will  deliver just that (and more).
Cost:  £10

Class dates

BrD2 – Sunday 22nd August, 2.30pm – 3.30pm
BrD3 – Saturday 18th September, 2.30pm – 3.30pm

For skaters who are already able to stop and turn comfortably (i.e. not complete beginners).
Skatefit is designed to tone up and strengthen your body, especially your skating muscles which, believe it or not includes your abdominals and back muscles as well as your legs and butt! Cost: £15
