I was born under the Slovakian mountains and have been skiing since the age of 3 and ice skating since I was 7. When I was 13 roller skates became popular. Once I tried them on, it wasn`t only fun, but also the best way of getting around. Even though I practiced with friends and skated with a local ice hockey team, I still couldn’t use the heel brake properly.

After completing a degree in economics, I moved to London to work as an au-pair. It was here I discovered I could potentially become a skating instructor. I took the introduction course, 1.5 hours of very intensive skating (my poor legs!), and decided that this was what I wanted to do. In June 2005 I passed the ICP level 1 course and later that summer Asha asked me to join Skatefresh. Now I passed my ICP level 2 and enjoy teaching adult and child skaters more and more. I teach regularly in several schools and during the holidays work with local councils and communicty groups, making sure skating is more widely available to more children and young people. I love to watch their “I can’t” turn into “wow, this is fun”.

For me skating is better than driving, cycling or running. I love to concentrate on learning new skating skills and it relaxes me when I feel in control of my skates. I believe, once you have mastered the beginner skills, skating is a great way to get fit and get around town. I used to cycle in London so now I skate in the traffic with no problem.

I teach beginners and advanced skaters, Kids club and our ultimate on how to keep your skating fitness up-Skatefit. Inliners+Quaddies alike. Recently i had an amazing opportunity to teach the lovely presenters from a new upcoming CBBC skating show-it was so fun. Look out for me on TV in July!

I  teach private lessons in Battersea Park, Albert memorial in Kensington Gardens and the Serpentine road in Hyde park. I teach in English or Slovakian (Czech). Look out for me handing out Skatefresh flyers and feel free to stop me for a skate related chat.

I am available mid week and at weekends, half terms and holidays.
