I’ve always loved skating, on both wheels and ice. I figure skated at Bristol Ice Rink with both singles and pairs but when I moved to Brighton I discovered the ice rink had been closed down!

I was gutted at first, but I’d brought my inline skates with me to Brighton and when I discovered the smooth ice rink-sized patch of tarmac by the West Pier I was so happy! It was a dream to skate on and I wondered if I could do some of the moves that I used to do on ice, on wheels.

I found Asha’s details on the internet and soon booked in for a private lesson. I started practicing and practicing and practicing and soon found myself replicating some of my old ice skating moves!

I was hooked! I had people coming up to me asking me if I could teach them – I said I’d love to but I wasn’t qualified. I was already a Personal Trainer and wondered what it would take for me to become a Skating Instructor.

I continued my training with Skatefresh learning new skills and was actually asked if I’d consider taking the Inline Skating Instructor course! I couldn’t book the course quick enough, I was so excited! Once I’d passed,

I was asked to join Skatefresh in Brighton and I’m so happy to be part of the team!

My timetable is pretty flexible so I can teach lessons during the week as well as weekends (children and adults). In 2009 we will be launching our special Skate Fitness course which I’m looking forward to teaching. It mixes all my personal training expertise with my love of skating.
