Paris Weekend Skate Trip

16th - 18th October 2009

Following three years of successful skate trips to Paris, 2008 will see Skatefresh going to Paris to skate the famous Friday night Pari-Roller street skate and enjoy a weekend of skating in one of the world’s most skateable cities.

The “unbelievably smooth” streets of Paris form the backdrop to the weekend and the Friday street skate can have over 15,000 skaters participating each week! See the city on skates on Saturday and complete another street skate on Sunday.

Prerequesites
You should have done an Intro to Stroll street skating class and/or Solo Street course AND have participated on at least 1 Sunday Stroll. If you’ve done either the London Friday Night Skate (www.lfns.co.uk) or the Wednesday night London street skate, (www.londonskate.com) you will be fine. Street skating in Paris is much easier than London so don’t worry if you still find London a challenge!

Travel
Due to ever changing Eurostar prices, we leave the booking of your travel up to you, so the sooner you book the cheaper your fare will be. We tell you which trains your skatefresh instructors will be travelling on so you can join the group if you wish, or make your own way there. We recommend hotels in Paris in the Gare Du Nord area and Montparnasse area and again allow you to make your own arrangements.

Friday 16th October. Asha from Skatefresh will be travelling on the Eurostar train from St Pancras station at about lunchtime. On Sunday 18th October she will be returning on the 7pm (more or less)Eurostar back to London. 4 months prior to departure, Asha wil purchase her ticketsd and you can choose to travel on the same train if you wish, or we meet up in Paris.

We recommend Rebecca Gray at Flight Centre if you want to book eurostar tickets or train+hotel deals.

The skatefresh package includes up to 14 hours of guided skating and instruction in Paris over the weekend including the ParisRoller, lesson time, sightseeing and the Sunday street skate. Depending on your level of experience, you can choose from the following two packages.

Brake you in gently - £120
This package is aimed at the fairly inexperienced street skater (in their first year of street skating) who wants assistance and guidance during the Pari-Roller street skate. Your instructor will be there with you to assist you with your stride, help you over the few patches of cobbles and generally keep an eye on you during the 3 hour skates on Friday and Sunday. On Saturday you then have approx. 6hrs of city touring and sight seeing with extra tuition thrown in through the day, as well as street skating tips and tricks throughout. On the Sunday we skate the family friendly street skate along the banks of the Seine before heading home. In total this package gives you 14 hours (minimum) of Skatefresh instructor contact over the weekend.
If you have skated this trip with Skatefresh before, repeat fee is £100.

Paris Whizzkid - £90skate class in Paris
This package is aimed at those who regularly do street skates or who have skated Paris before and don’t need or want any assistance during the Pari-Roller on Friday night. On Saturday you will receive 1.5hrs of group instruction followed by 6hrs of city touring and sight seeing. The Sunday skate is also included.
If you have skated this trip with Skatefresh before, repeat fee is £60
