Advanced Workshop
Where? The Boathouse
When? Sunday 18th April 2010, 11.30am – 1.30pm.
How much? £20
The Advanced workshop will get to the technical heart of your current skating problems.
The 18th April class will be a continuation of transitions and jumps, or rather using transitions for more than just moving from forwards to backwards and vise versa. Transitions (when mastered) can be linked together to make fancy 360 manouvers which look impressive at anyspeeds. You need to be comfortable with general backwards skating and already be doing a transition or two. This is not a beginner transition workshop. This is for those skaters wanting to show off their backwards and forwards with links which also have the ‘wow’ factor.
- Improving normal Mohawks (ie faster)
- The rolling spin
- Toe/Heel rolling 360
- Jumps landing backwards (with or without rotation, with or without the kerb). Also; jumping a bag, manhole cover or person on the ground.
- Check out Asha’s smooth transitions in this from 1min 40sec in this video:

This class will focus your learning in a way that allows you to progress beyond the workshop hours.
This class will push you to link your existing moves and make your skating repertoire smoother and more stylish. Many techniques learned can then be transfered onto slalom cups.
