Solo Street is thorough preparation for using your skates for urban transport. Skating on London’s streets and pavements is fraught with difficulties; uneven surfaces, curbs, manhole covers and avoiding cars/pedestrians to name but a few. In this class we will improve your basic skills and introduce new ones as we guide you on a supervised mini street skate.
This class gives you the knowledge you need to successfully negotiate obstacles, by jumping or going over them. Curbs are covered in a variety of methods depending on your skill level. Alot of attention is paid to learning how to make the decision of where to skate (street or pavement) to keep you safest, make your journey faster and reduce disruption to other road users.
You will need:
1. Skates (recreational skates with a heel brake).
2. Padding (knee and wrist).
3. HELMET (you cant come without one!)

“This course is simply fantastic. I was terrified of leaving the park after a few disastrous solo attempts, but Asha’s enthusiasm and the structure of learning how to actually tackle the urban environment meant I ended up surprising myself. I had a great time and now I skate everywhere“. Greg (31).
“We just completed the weekend Intro to street class and found it amazingly helpful, and it’s increased our confidence a *lot* “ (Simon and Louise).
Street skating in London is very challenging, so why not reward yourself and come with Skatefresh to Paris for an unforgetable weekend of skating 9-11th May. Clock up 2 street skates and a day of sightseeing on skates!
