This summer Skatefresh launches its new ‘Mummy Buggy Skate’ fitness class for inline skaters with children in buggies or pushchairs. Learn something new, have fun, no prior skating experience necessary (but its fine if you can already skate), get back into shape while enjoying fresh air and exercise without the need for childcare. Full beginner instruction is available at every class.

Booking essential for every class or course of classes. Email Asha@skatefresh.com

What is it about?
Each session starts slowly and develops your skating stride, stopping, and turning skills, all with your child and buggy. A special on-skates abdominal workout provides core strengthening (and the end of jelly-belly) while the skating is low impact on your joints but high on cardiovascular for your lungs and heart. The session ends with stretching (those leg/butt muscles) and a cool down.

Safety first
Safety is a priority in this class as several precautionary measures are taken to increase the safety of children in buggies. We ask that these be respected and not negotiated in any way.

Come to your first class without your child but with the buggy (if you are a complete beginner) so you acquire the basics of skating with your buggy before introducing your child to the fun.

Children in forward facing buggies should wear helmets.

All adults skating should wear protective gear of wrist and knee pads minimum buthelmets also recommended.

A ’safety strap’ attaching you to buggy is provided but this must be returned after class.

Speeds are kept low but fitness levels will be worked on with intensive excersises and specific drills which build confidence, stamina and endurance.
