I was born in Tanzania  and have lived in various other countries across Africa. I still have family living in Uganda so I keep returning to this vibrant, beautiful, colorful and extreme continent. But despite having experienced many of the wonders and secrets in various corners of Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda I wasn’t prepared for these guys:

The inline skaters of Cameroon

Africa never fails to surprise.

Apparently ever-present potholes couldn’t keep these skaters from getting infected with the skating fever.

Over 400 skaters are registered with the Federation Camerounaise de Patins à Roulettes already and even though the government shows little interest they’re hanging in there.

They definitely have my greatest respect and will hopefully keep up what they’re doing. Adding yet another flavor to the international skating world.
